Hmmmm, there are an awful lot of 4 slice toasters out there – none particularly standing out at the moment… Well, below the £40 mark at least.
Our current toaster is getting a bit long in the tooth and the matching kettle needs replaced hence my hunt for a new toaster!
See, even the Hobbits love toast! I am re-reading the Lord of the RIngs books for the first time in over 20 years and was please to see a Toast reference!
Chapter IX
“Flotsam and Jetsam”
At the end of the 14th or so paragraph the hobbits Merry and Pippin are hanging about at Isengard following the defeat of Sarumon by the Ents.
Pippin says
“A fire is handy. I will make you some toast. The bread is three or four days old, I am afraid”
What more could your average discerning geek want in life. His/Her favourite movie bad guy on a slice of toast.
Christmas is just round the corner…
Just looking at the hot buttered toast background just makes me want toast!
Must have toast…..
Only 5 hours til I’m finished work then I can go home and have some toast.
A fellow toast lover got in touch and offers the fantastic service of toast by post.
This is what the internet is all about!
I got excited for a moment thinking there was a chance to meet lots of other toast fans, but it isn’t what you think…
I came upon this poem that I wrote in the original (well maybe not quite original) version of ilovetoast.com. I used to run it as a forum and a couple of mad dudes came along and started posting lots of toast nonsense – MartianV and MavWayne I seem to recall were their logins.
“What’s your obsession with Toast,”
she asked as we sipped on our drinks in the bar.
“Its so tasty and versatile and healthy and sexy,
ummmm, sorry, I think I just took that too far.”
But out of this chat, a website was born,
I Love Toast was the name
Some others were thought of, there in the bar
but this stuck as a catchy domain.
So many years passed alone on the web,
with a rare visitor once in a while,
until April two thousand and seven,
the signups all came in a pile.
So I welcome you all from wherever you live
and for believing, like me, in this boast -
That whenever there is a space in your life,
you can always fill it with Toast
